Bluewater Health’s decision to participate in the Pink Glove Dance was an easy one! In healthcare, we support breast health every day in our Cancer Care Assessment & Treatment Centre, Breast Assessment Program, and Ontario Breast Screening Program. We journey with patients from diagnosis to treatment to successful recovery and in some emotional cases, to end-of-life care. On a personal level, many of us have family, friends and coworkers who have battled breast cancer. The Pink Glove Dance Competition proved to be an incredible opportunity to bring together our staff, physicians, and volunteers to help raise breast cancer awareness in our hospital and community. It also connected our hearts and spirits. It was a fun and positive way for staff to interact, while celebrating the lives saved and honoring those that have been lost.
