As Oakwood employees learned of Medline’s “Pink Glove” opportunity to raise money for breast cancer research, excitement and “Let’s do it!” traveled quickly throughout the facility. Within minutes, employees flooded the activity office to sign up. Oakwood employees not only excel in giving care, they welcome opportunities to help others. Employees purchased T-shirts and volunteered their time to plan and produce the video. Sporting hot-pink T-shirts that said “Oakwood Raising Awareness” and pink gloves, Oakwood employees teamed up with a ten-and- a-half year old local video genius who came to Oakwood to film the video. The Oakwood Care Center Team has raised over $10,000 for breast cancer research within the last two years, prompted by the diagnosis of our administrator’s sister, who continues to battle this horrific disease. The Oakwood Team truly appreciates the opportunity to win money for breast cancer research!
