Pink Glove Dance Competition

Willamette Valley Medical Center

McMinnville, OR

The word “community” is derived from the old French “communite” and from the Latin “communitas.” Community at its core is “cum” (with/together) and munus (gift). It’s this gift of uniting for a common cause that exemplifies our hospital and our community. It’s the stories of survival and grief from survivors to loved ones left behind that drive our story. From the high school dance team member who is already a survivor at such a young age to the man who lost multiple relatives to breast cancer; to the physician who drove the creation of our community cancer center who succumbed himself to cancer. Our community has a renewed compassion and drive to battle against not only breast cancer, but all cancer. With a community who unifies so strongly to win this battle, we challenge other communities to echo to fight and spread awareness!
